MIRABEL, QC -- Ruthless Racing's David Estok will miss the opening round of the Canadian Superbike Championship by Parts Canada at Circuit ICAR this weekend after sustaining a training injury at his Florida home.
The veteran ace was practicing on a motocross track on his property when he suffered a crash and injured his ankle. He is expected to return for round two of the series at Shannonville Motorsport Park July 1-3.
Estok was due to ride in the Harley-Davidson XR1200 Cup spec class and the Pro Sport Bike Championship on one of Ruthless Racing's Buell 1125Rs. Estok placed fourth in last year's Pro Sport Bike series.
The team called in Calgary rider John Ross MacRae as a replacement for Estok on the XR1200 at Circuit ICAR. Word in the paddock was that if the young up-and-comer performed well in the class the Ruthless Racing team would try to find a bike for him for the rest of the season.
The XR1200 Cup lost another high profile entry last weekend when Steven Nickerson was injured in a testing crash at Calabogie Motorsports Park. The Hamilton, ON teenager broke a finger and suffered a concussion.
