From Ducati North America
CUPERTINO, CA - Ducati North America has announced an excellent close to the second quarter of 2011, with sales up 61 percent for the quarter and Year-to-Date sales up 63 percent over the first half of 2010.
This year's sales have been exceptional in the US, Canadian and Mexican markets, with total North American growth surpassing the 60 percent mark in the first half of the year. Over 5200 bikes were registered in the first two quarters, and Ducati plans to continue posting strong sales figures as the year continues.
This year’s sales growth has been realized across the entire model lineup, with several particular models proving to be an outstanding success. The game-changing Multistrada 1200 continues its strong sales momentum, soon to be joined by the new Multistrada 1200 S Pikes Peak Special Edition. The newly-released Diavel has also proven a strong seller, joining the 848EVO Superbike and Monster 796 as top sellers in Ducati’s lineup.
"We are very satisfied with our half year results, which are an exceptional growth over 2010,” said Cristiano Silei, CEO of Ducati North America. “We are extremely excited about our potential for the rest of 2011 with the Monster 1100EVO [pictured] joining our formidable product line-up as summer hits full swing. In light of this continued success we will be strengthening our organization for the 2012 model year.”
