Dallaire keynote speaker at Safety Summit

From the Canadian Motorcycle Road Racers Safety Summit

TORONTO, ON -- The first annual Canadian Motorcycle Road Racers Safety Summit will take place in Toronto on Saturday, April 9 at the Spring Motorcycle Show at the International Centre in the Ontario Room off of Hall 1.

The event is an opportunity for all stakeholders in motorcycle road racing to come together, present ideas, review safety products and equipment, and generally examine various ways to improve the safety of the sport.

Among those presenting will be John Bickle of the Canadian Rider Safety Fund; Colin Fraser, Race Director with the CSBK; the Canadian Race Communications Association; Medical Information Carrier System; and Dr. Steve Walker on concussions. There will be a question and answer session following each presentation.

The keynote speaker for the event will be Dr. Jacques Dallaire, noted psychologist, performance coach and member of the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame. He will speak on the mental and physical aspects of the sport and their impact on safety. Dr. Dallaire’s attendance is sponsored by the Max Mercier Memorial Fund.

The day will conclude with a Rider Forum Open Discussion on Safety, featuring Daytona 200 winner Jason DiSalvo joined by reigning Canada Superbike and Sport Bike champion Jordan Szoke, Amy Szoke, and former Superbike champion Michael Taylor.

All motorcycle road racers are welcome to participate in the various sessions to provide their input and ideas. The Canadian Motorcycle Road Racers Safety Summit will run from 10:00am to 5:00pm.
