Nickerson to miss XR1200 opener

From Steven Nickerson

HAMILTON, ON – Due to an incident during pre-season testing last weekend, Hamilton-based Steven Nickerson will not be competing in this weekend’s Canadian Superbike Championship by Parts Canada - Harley-Davidson XR1200 Cup class at Circuit ICAR.

Nickerson received minor injuries to his hand and elbow. Due to a minor concussion he received during the incident the up-and-coming racer was advised to refrain from racing this weekend to ensure his and his fellow racers’ safety.

“This isn’t how I had hoped to start my season and I will be ready for the second round at Shannonville Motorsports Park on the Canada Day long weekend,” said Nickerson. “I want to thank my family, sponsors, friends and fans for their support and understanding."
