TORONTO, Ontario (August 18, 2011) – It is that time of the year again, when Harley-Davidson® motorcycle enthusiasts congregate for the annual Canadian National H.O.G.® Rally. 2011 marks the 16th anniversary of this iconic get-together, which attracts Harley-Davidson® owners from near and far.

The 16th Canadian National H.O.G.® Rally will take place from August 25 to 27, and will be defined by the startling and breathtaking views offered by the surroundings of Kamloops, British Columbia. Gina McNeil, Manager, Enthusiast Services, comments, “The location is stunning, and will most certainly provide a great reason for participants to ride to the Rally destination. Our focus this year has been to identify a setting which allows for great riding, giving our participating H.O.G.® members the chance to pursue their passion for the open road [while] surrounded by friends; so I really look forward to welcoming our members in Kamloops.” H.O.G.® Canada is hosting this event as a “thank you” to their most loyal and devoted Customers – the H.O.G.® members who share a common passion for their Harley-Davidson® motorcycles.

The highlight of the Rally activities will be the parade. With an expected 1,200 motorcycles riding through Kamloops, spectators will get the chance to view the impressive line-up of Harley-Davidson® motorcycles as they rumble past. The parade departs at 10:30 am on Saturday, August 27, from McArthur Island Park and travels along Tranquille Road, over Overlander Bridge, and loops back around Thompson Rivers University, which provides the best viewing spot for spectators. At 11:15 am, the parade returns to McArthur Island Park, where the public is welcome to watch the motorcycle field games.

In addition, returning H.O.G.® member favourites will include Biker Bingo, field games, and the impressive Show ‘N Shine, where enthusiasts show off their most prized possessions to an official jury, and compete for the top prize in their motorcycle class. The Show ‘N Shine event will take place at 11:00 am on August 26 at the Kamloops Towne Lodge, and will feature the best customized motorcycles at the Rally; categories will include Antique, Three-Wheeled, and Pro Custom. The general public will also have the opportunity to get involved by voting for the People’s Choice Award. On Friday, August 26, the local authorized Harley-Davidson® Retailer, Kamloops Harley-Davidson®, will host a party with a fantastic entertainment line-up featuring Trooper and Throttle Caster, as well as a live fashion show.

The 16th Canadian National H.O.G.® Rally will come to a close on the evening of Saturday, August 27, with an 1,800-person dinner, including entertainment featuring the Younguns and the Jimmy LeGuilloux Band. On the following day, anyone with a valid motorcycle licence and the appropriate riding gear can test ride the new 2012 Harley-Davidson® models for free at Kamloops Harley-Davidson®, where the Test Our Metal truck will be stationed.
